About the College of Forestry

Oregon State University's College of Forestry has been educating professionals for a century. We've earned a reputation as a world-class center of teaching and learning about forests and related resources. We offer undergraduate and graduate degrees in three departments, Forest Engineering, Resources and Management, Forest Ecosystems and Society, and Wood Science and Engineering. We also jointly offer several interdisciplinary programs. We operate about 14,000 acres of College Forests, most of it within minutes of campus.

Oregon State University is a land-, sea-, space- and sun-grant institution, an NCAA Division I university, and a member of the Pac-12 athletic conference. It is Oregon’s only university to hold both the Carnegie Foundation’s top designation for research institutions and its prestigious Community Engagement classification.

New Degrees	Recently, a Masters in Sustainable Forest Management was added to the college, as well as an online degree program for Masters in Natural Resources. An undergraduate degree was added, in 2011, in Renewable Materials.
Clubs & Organizations	Forestry Club has been a longtime tradition for the college, welcoming students since 1906.
Accomplishments & Innovations	Research, practices and policies coming out of the College of Forestry have an influence far beyond Corvallis.
Mentoring Programs	The College of Forestry has a couple mentoring programs, including SEEDS and Board of Visitors.
Rankings	The forestry program as a whole has been rated number one, while the Wildlife Science program was ranked number one in the nation and the Fisheries Science program was rated number two by the Chronicle of Higher Education.
Additional Prep for the Future	The College of Forestry hosts a Student Job Fair each year, an invitation may be requested if you wish to attend.
